6 WEEK TEENAGER VOCAL WORKSHOP (13 - 19 Years)Taught by Matt Thompson held @ The Joint Studios in Kings Cross.Starts Saturday 13th April, 2013 - 10 - 11.45 am.
This 6 week vocal workshop gives you the chance to work in a group environment with other like-minded singers. These workshops cover the same techniques covered in one to one tuition with extras such as live harmony study. These courses are relaxed, stress-free, fun and educational (nervous students are welcome!).
The aim of this workshop is to eliminate bad vocal technique and to learn the basics every vocalist should know in order to deliver a strong performance. Its a great way to build your confidence as it’s designed for beginners.
Over 6 weeks you will learn various techniques including
Expanding range
Voice placement
Understanding chest, mix and head voice
Bridging between voices
Breath control
Pitch control
Ear training
Harmony
Stage performance
Microphone techniqueStylistic technique Throughout these vocal workshops we look at songs in genres ranging from Rnb, Soul, Jazz, Gospel, Pop, Rock and more. Students are also encouraged to work on songs of their choice. By gaining an understanding of basic vocal technique you gain knowledge enabling you to control, improve, strengthen and expand your vocal register. Many students attend this workshop not only to understand vocal technique but also to improve confidence especially when it comes to singing in a group environment. Matt Thompson works with students on vocal development enabling students to find their own voice. It’s important to find individuality and not imitate other singers. It’s completely normal for some students to feel nervous when attending the first workshop however there really is no need. Matt Thompson introduces this workshop at a comfortable pace. If you are considering booking a place on this workshop but worried your nerves will get the better of you fear not as Matt has a great reputation ensuring students feel comfortable throughout all vocal workshops.
